Conception, set-up and implementation support of a digital innovation unit
The assignment for Infront was to work with EagleBurgmann to develop a roadmap for the development of digital innovations and to support the implementation by setting up the Digital Lab. The focus was on setting up the Lab and supporting two initial projects, for which Infront provided co-project leaders. The first project developed a digital solution for providing customer information and service, while the second project developed an IoT sensor for critical plant components.
The focus of the project was to equip the employees of the newly created Digital Lab with agile, digital product development skills. Infront started with the clear goal of making itself redundant at the end of the project. Workshops, training sessions and “learning by doing” – project work in which particular emphasis was placed on knowledge transfer – served this purpose. The methodological cornerstone was the Infront Innovation Playbook – a unique collection of methods and tools that has been expanded and refined over the years. The cornerstones of the playbook are frameworks for Design Thinking and Lean Start-up.
