Infront Corporate Innovation Benchmark and further refinement of central innovation activities
Challenge
For a service provider in the TIC-industry (Testing, Inspection, Certification) the increased dynamic in the business environment, called for a critical validation of the current innovation activities. The aim was to arrive at a comprehensive, transparent and thorough audit that is enriched with benchmarking data. Based on this audit, directions for future development and improvement should be derived and detailed.

Infront approach
In the first step, the audit, we used our standardized benchmarking framework that is based on an organizational model of innovation activities that we refined in 7 years of practice and experience from our hallmark studies on innovation units together with CAPITAL magazine. The organizational model is backed with empirical and current data from more than 200 innovation units in the DACH region.
The second step was to derive actionable directions for the future development of the innovation activities. We arrived at very concrete recommendations to build a central corporate startup program with a venture clienting model that was supplemented by lean CVC activities.
